Perennial Borders
Take the Guesswork Out of Gardening!
Create your own perennial borders. These borders are the result
of decades of experience with perennials; they provide maximum
satisfaction at money-saving prices.
You can use these borders straight or you may want to curve the
lines. You can also adapt an "L" shape. In planting, be sure to
allow greater space between different varieties than between plants
of the same variety.
Fool-Proof Perennial Borders -- These borders are designed for
either sun, partial shade or shade. These borders are comprised of
plants that are as foolproof as can be -- ideal for beginning
gardeners. Borders specified for "sun" will tolerate up to 2 hours
of shade. "Partial shade" borders perform best with at least two
hours of shade, and at least 4 hours of sun. "Shade" borders prefer
a couple of hours of sun, or light, dappled shade all day. By
placing the plants further apart, the 16' x 2' border can be used to
fill an area as large as 20' x 21/2'.
